Exclusive focus on geophysical
services
NGA's sale of its software
development section to Geosoft, Inc. will allow NGA to focus exclusively
on its geophysical services business. NGA will continue to provide high
quality geophysical services to clients in geotechnical, environmental
and groundwater industries. Rowland French, currently vice president and
head of our geophysical services department, will become President and
Gerry Connard will remain as Chairman of the Board. All the members of
our geophysical services team will continue with NGA.
NGA's exclusive focus on geophysical
services will bring many significant benefits to our customers. Focusing
on geophysical services enables us to reduce our administrative burden,
add to our human and equipment resources, streamline our workflow and
pass on the resulting savings to our customers, through lower pricing.
Our expanded capabilities and revised pricing structure puts NGA in an
excellent position to provide geophysical services to clients in the Pacific
Northwest and throughout North America in a timely and cost effective
manner.
New Personnel
NGA is pleased to welcome Neil
McKay to our staff as a Project Geophysicist. Neil has worked on geophysical
projects in Hawaii and California for the past three years, most recently
on the geophysical staff at the MANTEC offices in Oakland, CA. He has
a degree in Geology from Central Washington University in Ellensburg.
He has worked extensively with electromagnetic, ground penetrating radar
and seismic refraction methods. Neil can be reached at NGA, 541-757-7231,
or neil@nga.com.
New Geophysical Equipment
NGA has purchased a Geometrics
24 channel Geode system as well as both surface and downhole geophones.
With these recent equipment acquisitions, NGA can respond more effectively
to clients requirements for seismic refraction, downhole seismic velocity
surveys, seismic surface wave analysis, and shallow seismic reflection.
NGA also maintains software licenses for SeisImager (from Geometrics)
and SIP Win (from RimRock Geophysics).
